Former Ghana U20 defender Bright Addae says his penalty miss against Brazil in the finals of the 2009 FIFA World Youth Championship still serves in his memory.
The versatile player missed his kick during the penalty shootouts at the Cairo International Stadium.
Addae left many Ghanaians on tenterhooks after taking a weak penalty which was saved by Brazil goalkeeper Rafael.
According to the Ascoli defender he felt dejected after the crucial miss which could have sealed victory for Ghana.
“I felt really sad and there were many things going through my mind as at then,” he told KWESE Sports.
“That penalty was very crucial, it could have won us the game, and Coach “Bobo” had so much confident in me.
“That was the way I played my kicks at training and I had never missed at training.
“At a point in time I was wondering what would happen if we failed to win until they also missed and Agyemang Badu scored.”
The player has been excelling at Italian Serie B Club Ascoli with reports already linking him to several Serie A Clubs.
