Footballitalia is reporting Torino might block Afriyie Acquah’s impending move to English Club Birmingham City.
The midfielder has reportedly reached an agreement to join the Championship side for a fee worth around €9million.
The Italians are unwilling to release the 25-year-old following the shortage of midfielders at the Club.
Mirko Valdifiori and Daniele Baselli are all injured hence will be out for some time coupled with Marco Benassi’s move to Fiorentina which is forcing officials of the Club to stay put on the Ghanaian midfielder.
Acquah’s future with the Serie A Club will be decided after this weekend’s League match against Sassoulo.
Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp meanwhile has confirmed the imminent arrival of the former Parma midfielder.
A decision will have to be made between the two Clubs (Birmingham and Torino) before August 31 transfer deadline.
