Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu is confident the Black Stars B will steer past Burkina Faso to book a ticket for the 2018 CHAN.
Maxwell Konadu’s men took a step closer to qualification after holding Burkina Faso’s Stallions to a 2-2 draw in Ouagadougou on Saturday afternoon.
Striker Saddick Adams opened the scoring for Ghana from the spot after Amos Frimpong won a penalty inside the box.
The host pulled even after a defensive mishap inside the area but Gideon Waja picked a visionary pass from Winful Cobbinah to plant the ball firmly behind the opposition keeper.
Awal Mohammed and his partner in central defence came into criticism after lowering their guards as the home side restored parity once more.
And, Badu says the team needed to keep their focus when they took the lead.
“When we get a vital lead like that we need to protect it,” he told Joe Debrah on Happy FM.
The Bursaspor midfielder however remains confident of the side’s qualification.
“When I was in Ghana I visited the team and saw the extent of work and the quality. I have confidence that they will qualify,” he added.
Badu played an influential role for Ghana when they finished second in 2009 in the Ivory Coast.
