Ghana international Albert Adomah netted his first League goal of the season to propel Aston Villa to an emphatic 4-1 win over Wigan Athletic in the English League Cup.
The winger inspired his side to victory after smashing home a volley to open his goal account of the season in 36minutes.
The 27-year-old played a role in Villa’s opening goal by assisting Scott Hogan before finding the back of the net.
Hogan scored his second on the night after Ryan Colclough had grabbed a consolation goal for the visiting team.
Birkir Bjarnason completed the victory with a sublime strike in the 76th minute.
Adomah enjoyed the full 90 minutes at the Villa park.
The former Middeslbrough attacker had not been consistent in recent time due to persistent injury problems.
