Black Stars B managed a favorable result away from home in the first leg of the Championship of African Nations qualifiers (CHAN) after drawing 2-2 with Burkina Faso on Saturday.
Ghana relinquished the lead twice in the game to settle for a draw away from home.
Striker Saddick Adams gave Ghana the lead in the 24th minute after expertly converting from the penalty spot following a foul on Thomas Abbey in the 18-yard box.
Sylla Mohammed pulled parity for the home team in the second half of the game but midfielder Gideon Waja restored Ghana’s lead with a decent strike in the 77th minute.
The Black Stars could not hold on to the lead after substitute Sawadogo equalized with just 5 minutes left on the clock.
Ghana will host their Burkinabe counterparts next weekend in a game which could possibly take place at the intimidating Babayara Sports Stadium.
Coach Kwesi Appiah is aiming to qualify the team to the Championship of African Nations after missing out in the last edition.
