English Championship side Birmingham City are expected to finalize the signing of Ghana midfielder Afriyie Acquah by the end of the week.
Talks between Birmingham and Torino is in its advanced stages hence a deal could be reach in the next few days.
Acquah remains a top target for Birmingham boss Harry Redknapp who is pushing to acquire the services of the robust Ghana international.
“We’re hoping we can get him through the door and we’re looking to build a good team,” Redknapp told the Birmingham Mail.
“He’s a strong midfield player, he can play, he’s got a real engine on him.
“He’s a good all-round midfield player, a powerhouse.
“He plays for Ghana so he’d be a good acquisition for us.
“Sulley (Muntari) was a good player for me and he’s the same, aggressive. Ghana have had lots of good midfield players over the years so hopefully he will be a good signing for us.”
The English manager turned his attention to Afriyie Acquah after missing out on Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang Badu who joined Turkish Club Bursaspor.
Afriyie Acquah is alleged to have played his last game for Torino over the weekend.
