English Premier League side Burnley are pushing to finalize a move for Ghana international Abdul Majeed Waris, Skysports have reported.
Manager Sean Dyche wants to make the striker his second major signing after £15m Club-record signing of Chris Wood from Leeds.
Waris who is also reported to be on the radar of West Ham United is said to have agreed terms with Burnley who are itching to complete a deal with the 25-year-old before next week.
The striker scored 10 goals in 36 appearances for French Club Lorient last season.
He is unlikely to stay at Lorient following the team’s demotion from Ligue 1.
The former BK Hacken forward would provide massive competition for Chris Wood, who could make his Burnley debut in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup derby clash against Blackpool.
Burnley have less than nine days to sign the striker or risk of losing him this summer.
