Former Chelsea star Michael Essien joined inmates of the LAPAS Sukamiskin Prison in Indonesia to mark the country’s 72nd Independence Day celebration.
Indonesia marked their Independence Day celebration on Thursday with Essien visiting prisoners to mark the occasion.
The Ghanaian international spent time with the prisoners and also shared his life experience.
Essien in addition made a little donation to the inmates.
The former AC Milan midfielder currently plays for Indonesian giants Persib after leaving Greek Club Panathiniakos.
The player was accompanied by a translator who helped in communicating with the Prisoners.
