Ghanaian youngster Thomas Agyiri registered his first goal of the season in Finland as he struck in their 4-3 win over HIFK in the Finnish Veikkausliiga on Monday evening at the Tammelan Stadion.
In a goal-bath thriller the Ghanaian found the back of the net in the 9th minute just a minute after the visitors had taken the lead.
It was a game that featured three Ghanaian players in the starting line up of Ilves and they made their influence count in the game.
Defender Baba Mensah who played for Ghana Premier League side Inter Allies played in central defence while former BK Hacken midfielder Reuben Aryana excelled in midfield.
Agyiri, a product of Ghana’s Right To Dream Academy, was replaced in the 66th minute.
He has mainly played in Portugal and Finland as he has had spells at Gil Vicente, Atletico CP and Farense all in Portugal and two seasons at TPS.
He was signed by Manchester City from RtD Academy when he graduated but he was sent on loan immediately.
The goal was his first in 7 games for Ilves.
