Ghana U17 National Team Management Chairman Kweku Eyiah has been exposed in an alleged WhatsApp message sent to Right to Dream Academy chief Tom Vernon asking him to conclude contractual issues with two players or risk being left out of the Ghana squad.
In a recorded telephone conversation Right to Dream Academy top official Gareth Henderby is heard clearly dictating to the family leader of a hugely talented youngster – Kelvin Ofori, that he needs to extend his contract with the academy before he would be included in Ghana’s final squad for the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup which will take place in India next month.
Kwaku Eyiah appeared on UTV Sports’s show on Saturday afternoon and publicly denied ever having any such MoU with Right to Dream Academy.
Ghana Sports Online has obtained a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation alleged to have taken place between Tom Vernon and Kweku Eyiah over the inclusion of talented duo Kudus Mohammed and Kelvin Ofori.
Ghana Sports Online can authoritatively confirm that the two players have been excluded from the preliminary squad that has been submitted to FIFA because they refused to extend their contracts with Right to Dream Academy. In addition to that we have also obtained copies of the MoU between the GFA and Right to Dream Academy.
Ghana Sports Online is still investigating the details of the WhatsApp messages and other related documents to the deal.
Despite the denial from the GFA, Eyiah insisted that Ghana FA will not take any legal action against Right to Dream Academy.
Meanwhile also in that intercepted message Gareth Henderby seeking to suppress a young Ghanaian football who wants to return to Ghana for unknown reasons.
