Former Sports Minister Nii Lantey Vanderpujye says he is not surprised about the Black Stars B failure to qualify for the 2018 Championship of African Nation tournament.
Ghana threw away a first leg advantage to lose 2-1 to Burkina Faso in the return match played in Kumasi hence missing out on one of the available slots for the competition.
The team’s failure to make it has raised questions about the competency of head Coach Maxwell Konadu who has been in charge of the side since 2013.
Nii Lantey speaking to Atinka FM says he was not surprised to see the team fail to make it to the CHAN.
“I am not surprised, I saw it coming, if we are in a country where people fail to put good measures in place this is what happens.
“I didn’t expect this though but I am not surprised the team failed to qualify.
“We always complain things are not done right but only hypocrites come out to say all is well when it is clear things are not going well.”
Ghana will have to wait until 2019 for a chance to play at the competition in 2020.
