Timothy Fosu-Mensah tasted defeat on his debut for Crystal Palace in the English Premier League on Saturday afternoon as they lost 3-0 to Huddersfield Town.
The 19-year-old was making his first appearance for the Eagles since his loan move from Manchester United.
Mensah in a three-back system played at the right side of defense but could do little to help Frank De Boar’s men avoid humiliation at home.
The former Dutch youth international played 78 minutes and gave a good account of himself in the match.
He was however replaced by James Tomkins with 12 minutes left to play.
An own goal by Joel Ward and two wonder strikes from Steve Mounie for Huddelsfield Town dashed Palace hopes of securing their first 3 points in the opening day of the League.
Ghana left-back Jeffrey Schlupp was left as an unused substitute for Crystal Place as he watched the entire game on the bench.
