Ghana international Michael Essien has secured himself a deal with German sportswear Adidas.
The former Chelsea star signed a contract with the firm to become one of their ambassadors in the World.
Essien, who currently plays for Indonesian Club Persib will be the brand ambassador in the Asian country.
The 34-year-old is believed to have pocketed a mouthwatering amount of cash as part of the deal.
I’m comfortable in Bandung, I do not think I can live in Jakarta, it’s incredible,” Essien jokingly told JPC.
“My activities are just sleeping outside of soccer, playing, exercising, sleeping, so over and over, my favorite thing and my hobby is sleep,” he concluded.
The former AC Milan midfielder seems to have started life after football with his new deal with Adidas.
His new role will see him as a public icon for the people of Indonesia.
He joins his wife Mrs Akusua Puni Essien who has been am ambassador for several organizations across the World and currently the owner of Italian lower division Club FC Como.
