Ghanaian youth midfielder Nana Opoku Ampomah scored his season’s opening goal for Waasland-Beveren in the Belgian top-flight on Saturday evening.
The 21-year-old raced his side into a 3rd minute lead at the Versluys Arena.
The match started perfectly for Waasland-Beveren because after almost two minutes The Lions were already on the lead.
A pass from Laurent Jans was pestered by Silvio Proto who whipped a low drive in off the far post. Nana Opoku Ampomah got there first and put it in for a corner.
The goal marks his first in regular league season for Waasland since his arrival at the club.
He was replaced in the 88th minute by Ivorian Victorien Angban.
Zinho Gano scored twice to add to Ampomah’s early-minute strike to help Waasland to a 3-0 win over KV Oostende.
