Two second half goals from winger Prince Obeng-Ampem and striker Daniel Lomotey handed WAFA a 2-0 win over Kotoko in an outstanding League match at the Red Bull arena in Sogakope on Wednesday.
The Academy lads maintained their quest for the League title with a decent victory to move up on the League table.
Kotoko, having held the home side in the first half had to succumbed to the pressure from the quick and skillful players of WAFA in the second half.
Obeng-Ampem broke the deadlock for the title chasers in 64minutes to put the home crowd into wild celebration.
Lomotey got the cushioning and his side’s second with a cool finish 5minutes later to put Kotoko off from drawing level.
Kotoko midfielder Prince Acquah squandered a goal scoring opportunity which could have been a consolation for the Porcupine Warriors.
The result moves WAFA back to the top of the League table with 46 points, 2 more than second place Aduana Stars.
