English-born Ghanaian scoring sensation Edward Nketiah struck the match-winner for Arsenal in their U23’s 3-2 win over Derby County in the Premier League 2 Division One on Monday night.
The 18-year-old attacker marked his first competitive game of the season for Steve Gatting’s boys who fought from two goals down to turn the tie in their favour.
Reiss Nelson scored a brace to level the scoring before Nketiah sealed the win with a fine finish at the St George’s Park National Football Centre.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger took the talented youngster to pre-season as he featured in pre-season games but is unlikely to be handed first team opportunity this season.
He is capable of playing as a target man or as a runner in behind, he is a good finisher and strong defensively too.
MK Dons have been linked with a move for the youngster who has already represented England at youth level.
He could still switch his nationality to represent Ghana – the West African country where his parents come from.
