Asamoah Gyan’s debut League game for Kayserispor was dented by a heavy 4-1 defeat at the hands of giants Galataseray.
The striker who was close to miss the game after sustaining a slight injury during warm-up could not find the back of the net after lasting 71 minutes.
Gyan was named in the starting line-up for Kayserispor but the Ghana captain was timely checked by the defense of Galatasery who kept close eyes on the powerful attacker.
The 31-year-old was substituted by Belgian forward Mujangi Bia with 19 minutes left in the game.
Coach Marius Ninel Umudic could start the former Sunderland star in the team’s next game against Göztepe.
The Ghana international signed a two-year contract with the Super Lig side after ending his deal with Chinese Club Shanghai SIPG.
