Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah has been handed a call-up to replaced injured midfielder Isaac Sackey ahead of Ghana’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Congo.
Sackey suffered an injury whilst in action for his Club Analyaspor in the Turkish top-flight on Friday.
The midfielder had initially been named in the Black Stars 24-man squad released on Thursday.
He will be replaced by Acquah who was left out of the squad by head Coach Kwesi Appiah.
The Birmingham target will join his other Black Stars teammates as they open camp on Monday ahead of the game.
The Italy-based midfielder had to rely on a late call-up this time around despite earning an invitation for Ghana’s Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia in June.
