USA-based Ghana defender Lalas Abubakar believes he has justified himself to earn a call-up from Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah.
The Ghana coach spent close to 14 days in the USA monitoring Ghanaian players in the MLS and USL and met the former Ghana U20 defender who scored for Columbus Crew during the weekend.
And, the 22-year-old believes he caught the eye of 57-year-old former Ghana international during his scouting spell.
“It was great. He [Kwesi Appiah] came at the right time and I had my opportunity to show him what I am capable of,” he told KwesèESPN.
“I wanted to show him what I got by simply doing well. I thought I played really well in that game so hopefully I have made my case for a call-up.”
