Ghana could be missing the services of defender John Boye for Friday’s 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Congo.
The Sivasspor center-half took a scan after sustaining a muscle strain during the team’s training session.
Boye arrived for the crucial hurdle having been included in the 24-man squad named by head Coach Kwesi Appiah.
It is unlikely to see the player in action on Friday due to his latest setback.
The former Rennes defender was expected to pair up with Jonathan Mensah in central defense.
Coach Kwesi Appiah could be looking at other options in the absence of his key defender.
Jonathan Mensah and Larweh Attamah who returned to the squad are in line to replace Boye in central defense on Friday.
Meanwhile the team will hold their final training session at the Babayara Sports Stadium this morning.
The Black Stars are expected to beat their Congolese counterparts to bolster them in the remaining matches in the group as they lie third with just a point after two games.
