Officials of the Ghana Football Association are planning to file a protest against an “unqualified” player in the Burkina-Faso team after the Black Stars B failed to qualify for the CHAN tournament following a defeat at the hands of their counterparts.
Coach Maxwell Konadu and his charges will not be participating in the competition which will be held by Kenya after losing 2-1 in the second leg of the final qualifier.
A report by the Ghana Sports Newspaper indicates top officials at the FA have been informed about an unqualified player in the Burkina Faso team.
According to the report the said player was not eligible to play as he plied his trade outside the country.
The Championship of African Nations tournament is being organized for home-based players by the Confederation of African Football.
Ghana could hence be giving the nod to participate at the competition should Burkina Faso be found culpable to the offense.
