Accra Hearts of Oak have handed captain Thomas Abbey a two-year contract extension worth $18,000, according to media reports.
The midfielder is said to have agreed to stay with the Rainbow Club amid a reported interest from South Africa.

Abbey has been a toast in the Ghana Premier League this season with many tipping him to clinch the most valuable player accolade at the end of the season.
The exciting player has notched 12 goals for Hearts of Oak so far in the League.
Bankroller of the Club Togbe Afede is said to have held talks with the 26-year-old hence a deal reached to have the player sign a new contract with the Club.
He is currently with the Black Stars B team preparing for Sunday’s Championship of African Nations qualifier against Burkina Faso at the Babayara Sports Stadium.
