Ghana left-back Abdul Baba Rahman could extend his stay at German Club Schalke O4.
The defender is likely to stay on for another loan spell with the Royal blues.
Baba Rahman was expected to return to his parent Club Chelsea after spending last season on loan at the Bundesliga outfit.
His stint with the Club was however halted by a knee injury which has kept him away from action since January.
Schalke O4 Sporting Director Christian Heide has confirmed talks with the Ghanaian international over the possibility of staying for yet another season.
“We are in talks with the player, his agent and Chelsea,” Heidel told Schalke’s official website.
“Ultimately, it is about when Baba will be able to play again. No decision has been made yet.”
The 23-year-old’s chances of a first team place at Chelsea remain slim after failing to take part in the team’s preseason exercise.
Meanwhile reports also indicate Schalke could hand in a request to sign the former Augsburg defender on a permanent deal.
