Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah has received praise from his Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley after he scoring to help his side earn a 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers in the English League One on Saturday.
The 27-year-old hit the opener at the Cherry Red Records Fans’ Stadium with a 58th minute effort before Andrew Barcham claimed the second goal two minutes later.
Appiah was recalled into the starting line up and justified the faith reposed in him by the manager.
Wimbledon manager has some nice words for the 2015 Ghana AFCON striker after the game.
“We know Kwesi has got it and hopefully that will give him a bit of confidence. They (the forwards) have had lots of chances, I kept a tab of the chances they created, and they’ve had a few already so far this season,” he said in the post-match interview.
It’s nice for them to get off the mark. I have every confidence in the forwards we have scoring goals. My job is to get the team enough of the ball and in good positions to create chances for them. They trained exceptionally well Thursday and Friday and second-half they showed what they can do.”
