Richmond Boakye-Yiadom could be handed a starting role in tomorrow’s FIFA World Cup qualifier against Congo.
The striker is in line for a starting place following the absence of captain Asamoah Gyan and his deputy Andre Ayew.
Jordan Ayew who was also expected to lead the frontline in the absence of the two (Asamoah Gyan and Andre Ayew) have also been ruled out of the game due to stomach upset according to the team’s spokesperson Ibrahim Sanni Darra.
The situation leaves Richmond Boakye-Yiadom as the only available striker in the team.
Coach Kwesi Appiah would therefore give the young forward an opportunity after keeping the Red Star Belgrade attacker on the bench in the team’s 1-1 draw with the same side (Congo) at the Babayara Sports Stadium.
Defender Attamah Larweh could also retain his starting place despite a difficult time in his first game where he gifted a goal to the Congolese.
The Turkey-based might be played at the right-back as compatriot Harrison Afful is said to have aggravated his injury which will keep him out of the game.
