Ghana winger Solomon Asante has rebuffed reports indicating he has been released by Congolese giants TP Mazembe.
The 25-year-old was reported to have parted ways with the former CAF Champions League winners.
Contrary to reports, Ghanasportsonline.com category revealed the player was reluctant on renewing his contract with the Congolese Champions who are willing to hand him an extension.
Asante, whose deal with Mazembe runs out in few months time has denied rumors about his supposed exit from the Club.
“I was shocked and don’t know why someone will write that, I saw it and I was very surprised,” he told Atinka FM.
“I am still a player of TP Mazembe and I was even part of the team that played in the Confederations Cup over the weekend.
“I was on the bench and it was the Coach’s decision, but is not true I have left Mazembe, I am still under contract and I am still their player.”
South African Club Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly renewed their interest in the diminutive winger.
The former Berekum Chelsea speedster has also been linked with a move to China.
