Greater Accra were crowned the overall Champions of this year’s National Sports Festival held at the Babayara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The contingent from the Nation’s capital dominated the competition by winning five events in the competition.
Accra emerged victors in boxing, handball (Men and Women), Taekwondo (Men and Women), Tennis (Men and Women) and basketball (Men and Women).
Ashanti Region came second with victories in Athletics and Football with the Western and Central Regions taking third and fourth place respectively.
This year’s National Sports festival saw over 200 athletics competing in various disciplines.
The competition which was returning after a seven year break is used to unearth talents to represent Ghana at the international level.
