Ace Ghana football administrator Kingsley Osei-Bonsu, popularly known in football circles as Lord Zico, has backed GFA Vice President George Afriyie to succeed Kwesi Nyantakyi in the 2019 Ghana Football Association elections.
Long-serving President Nyantakyi has declared he will not seek re-election when his current tenure ends in 2019.
Western Regional FA chairman Kojo Yankah declared his intentions to contest for the seat on Saturday on Accra-based Asempa FM.
Ace football administrator who is chairman at Ghana Premier League side Bechem United believes George Afriyie has what it takes to lead Ghana football to success.
“Personally I think George Afriyie is the right man for the job and once he declares his intentions to contest for the elections in 2019 there’s no way I’m not supporting him,” he told Accra-based Asempa FM.
George Afriyie has shown a lot of good leadership qualities and sustainable relationship with stakeholders of Ghana football.
