Angry fans in Ghana who watched the Black Stars draw 0-0 with Uganda in Kampala on Saturday are calling for FIFA to order replay of the game following dodgy officiating.
The four-time African champions had an obvious penalty call ignored by South African referee Daniel Bennett before his assistant one flagged FC Zurich striker Raphael Dwamena after he had scored from an on-side position.
Ghana’s hopes of reaching Russia was hanging on a tread and needed to beat Uganda at the Nelson Mandela Stadium but the 0-0 stalemate results means their hopes are all but over now.
Some fans took to various social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter to express their anguish.
I love Uganda’s CAF WCQ effort but Ghana robbed twice by awful offside calls. Black Stars run of 3 straight WC Finals all but over. (1/3)

Given what was at stake in this game it’s unfortuante that the referee stole the headlines, but a more Ghanaian display from the Black Stars.

However fans in Accra and across the country who phoned in on various radio programmes after the game are calling for the Ghana FA President, who is CAF’s Vice President, to petition FIFA over a replay of the fixture.
The fans are referring to a recent FIFA decision that saw the world football governing body order a replay of a game between South Africa and Senegal following a horrendous officiating from Ghanaian official J O Lamptey.
