Ghanaian boxing connoisseur Mohammed Amin Lamptey has stated that Bastie Samir could have killed Brimah Kamoko during Saturday night’s bout.
Samir defeated Kamoko popularly known as Bokum Banku, through a TKO in the 7th round of their clash at the Bokum Boxing Arena.
Banku had to drop further down in weight to fight Samir, who had threatened to beat Banku inside the four corners since 2015.
The 2008 Beijing Olympics fighter gave Banku a tough night as he delivered hard punches in jab combinations to daze him off the fight.
Samir had sparked into gear and was releasing deadly blows to Banku but the referee came into his rescue as he counted Banku and ended the bout.
And, experienced ring announcer Amin Lamptey believes the referee should have stopped the fight earlier as Samir could have killed Banku inside the ring.
“The referee should have stopped the bout earlier and should have counted Banku but he took him to the neutral corner. Samir could have killed Banku,” he told Accra-based Asempa FM.
Banku’s camp has called for a rematch but Samir’s trainer has stated his boxer will not endure another weight change again.
