Egypt defeated Uganda 2-1 to become the second African country to book a place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Mohammed Salah’s brace was all the Pharaoh’s needed to confirm their place in Russia.
Salah shot the African giants into the lead in the 63rd minute, however Bouka Moutou drew level in the 87th minute to put the home side in danger of having to wait to complete the final hurdle against Ghana.
The Liverpool attacker came to the rescue of the North African’s when he converted a penalty kick late in the game.
Egypt thus maintained their top spot in Group E with 12 points and joins Nigeria as the two African countries to secure a place at the WORLD Cup next year.
