Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has lauded the Ghana Football Association’s decision to protest to FIFA over a wrong call from South African referee Daniel Bennett in Ghana’s 0-0 draw game with Uganda in a World Cup qualifier.
Ghana was denied victory after the centre referee disallowed Raphael Dwamena’s late goal which could have given the team a lifeline in their quest to qualify for the World Cup.
Dwamena was ruled offside after scoring what proved to be the last kick of the game.
The decision from Daniel Bennett has now dashed Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the World Cup.
The Ghana Football Association have declared its intention to protest against the call by the officials.
Gyan who was missing from action due to injury has backed the Football Association’s intention to file formal complaints to the World Football governing body.
