Sweden’s chase for talented midfielder Kingsley Sarfo all ended on Saturday as the Malmo FF midfielder debuted for the West African giants in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Uganda.
The 21-year-old was handed a starting role on his first official match for the Black Stars under Kwesi Appiah and he lasted 51 minutes.
The talented midfielder impressed in midfield until he was replaced by FC Astana’s Patrick Twumasi.
Sarfo came close to switching his nationality to play for Sweden as the European side were hotly on his wheels.
The Malmo midfielder confirmed filing his documents to switch his nationality to represent Sweden but he later had a change of mind.
The youngster will now be seeking to nail a permanent spot in the Ghana team who now turn their full attention to the 2019 AFCON after missing out on a spot for Russia next summer.
