Attacker Patrick Twumasi worsened his injury after playing in the Black Stars final World Cup qualifier against Egypt in Cape Coast on Sunday.
The forward came on as a 43rd minute substitute for debutant Nana Ampomah who sustained an injury in the cause of the game.
Twumasi was only returning from an ankle setback suffered in the Black Stars friendly match against lower division side Glowlamp Soccer Academy prior to Sunday’s clash against Egypt.
The Astana star had failed to train with the team two days before the game due to his swollen leg.
Having managed to join the team in their workout session on Saturday, Twumasi was introduced into the game by Coach Kwesi Appiah where he came on to play a role in ensuring the Black Stars avoided defeat at home after Shikabala had given Egypt the lead from a wonderful strike.
The 23-year-old has aggravated the injury and will now undergo further treatment in Germany before joining his team Astana ahead of their Europa League match against Villarreal.
Astana will be dealt a huge blow should the Ghanaian international fail to recover on time.
