Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan wants the team to beat Egypt to better their FIFA ranking.
Ghana takes on the North African giants in the last qualifier for the FIFA World Cup.
The Black Stars after three consercutive World Cup appearances will not be partaking in the competition which takes place in Russia next year.
Egypt grabbed the only slot in Group E having won four out of their five matches played so far.
Despite Ghana’s failure to make it to the World Cup, Gyan wants the team to beat Egypt to improve on the position on the FIFA ranking.
“It is very unfortunate we won’t be able to play in the World Cup, but that is football, you wouldn’t get all you expect,” he told the media.
“We wanted to qualify but that didn’t happen so we need to look ahead.
“We have to win this particular game against Egypt to better our FIFA ranking.
“We have young players in the team and so they will like to prove what they can do for the country.
“But as I said we must win to better our position on the FIFA ranking which I believe will help us a lot.”
Ghana is currently ranked the 53rd best team in the World and eight in Africa.
