Accra Hearts of Oak skipper, Thomas Abbey has stated that he cannot assure the Club’s fans of a possible stay next season following uncompleted negotiations between him and the club’s top hierarchy.
The former academy winger who had scintillating and undoubtedly, the best ever performance this season since joining the Phobians four years ago is running out of contract with only few months to elapse.
He is however is expected to pen to paper another deal with the capital-based club.
The Wafu Cup of Nations Gold medalist scored 13 goals this season with only 4 goals adrift of the overall top scorer, Hans Koffie who also scored 17 goals to run home with the top scorer accolade.
The unruffled captain who early on pledged his commitment to stay with the Phobians says he is still negotiating with his employers with the hope that both parties reach successful conclusion however, he failed to rule out his possible exit too.
‘’ I can’t promise Hearts fans of my stay because I’m still in negotiations with management so if they are able to meet my demands, I will renew my contract but if they are not able to meet my demand, I think Hearts fans will not see me in the rainbow colors next season,”he told ATL FM of Cape Coast.
“But even if negotiations don’t go well, my next destination will be in Europe but not in the local league’’.
Thomas Abbey will be expected to have successful negations with Hearts.
