The Ghana mission in Congo came to the rescue of players and officials of Asante Kotoko after they were manhandled and assaulted by fans and officials of CARA.
Reports from Congo indicate, it had to take the intervention of the Ghanaian Ambassador and his team to come to the aid of Kotoko after the home supporters stained the seats of their bus with unknown substances believed to be liquids from pigs.
Kotoko prior to this occurrence had been refused to hold their mandatory training session at the Stade Alphonse Massemba-Débat.
The team was transported from the stadium to their hotel via two V8 vehicles provided by the Ghanaian mission in Congo.
The Ghanaian Club have been ill-treated in the last 24 hours. Kotoko will need to avoid defeat to progress to the first round of the CAF Confederations Cup.
