Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah recently met Huddersfield Town striker Collin Quaner during his visit to the United Kingdom.
This is a bid to convince the German-born to commit his international future to the West African country.
Quaner, 23, has been playing for the Terriers since 2017 when he signed from Union Berlin.
He has featured 25 times for Huddersfield who are lying 15th on the Premier League table.
Quaner, a towering forward, is widely acclaimed for his technical qualities and is always used as a second striker to bring the best out of finishers.
He was born to Ghanaian parents in the German city of Dusseldorf.
The move by Kwesi Appiah means he could be named in Ghana’s next squad for AFCON 2019 qualifiers.
He has not been capped by the country of his birth.
