Medeama defender Ibrahim Yaro insist he deserved to be crowned the best defender of the MTN FA Cup competition.
The center-back capped his incredible performance last season with an honorary award at Wednesday’s awards gala in Accra.
Yaro won the best defender award beating Kotoko’s Ahmed Adams and Richard Akrofi of Hearts of Oak.
“I am really happy, it is an honor for me, all the nominees deserved to win because they are all good players,” he told the press.
“Personally I deserve to win it because I worked hard last season for my Club Medeama.
“I helped the team to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and lost to Kotoko. My performance in the League was also very good so I will say I really deserved this award.
“This should be a stepping stone for me and it will push me to do more this season for my Club.”
The defender for some time has been one of the unsung heroes in the Ghana Premier League despite his consistent performance for Aduana Stars.
