Ghana Football Association General Secretary Isaac Addo was stopped from travelling to Zurich yesterday as Ghanaian government operatives prevented him from boarding a flight at the Kotoka International Airport.
The General Secretary was trying to nicodemusly sneak out of the country in company of Kweku Eyiah, another member of the GFA.
The two were travelling on a reported invitation by FIFA concerning the current situation in Ghana football.
The duo reportedly sent a correspondence to the world football governing body on the development which has prompted FIFA to send a delegation to the West African country to resolve the situation.
The Ghanaian government acquired an ex parte injunction last week to halt football activities in Ghana over an exposé by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi has resigned from his position as FA President, CAF First Vice President and FIFA Executive Council member.
There’s a power lacuna at the executive ranks of the GFA following Nyantakyi’s resignation and his unlawful dismissal of his Vice George Afriyie in April.
