American-born Ghanaian Charles Sapong scored the consolation goal for Philadelphia Union in their 3-1 home loss to Los Angeles Galaxy in the American Major League Soccer on Saturday night.
The 29-year-old striker netted the game’s opening goal in the 29th minute at the Talen Energy Stadium in Chester for his side.
The Union, who later introduced Ghanaian attacker David Accam into the game, appeared cruising to victory until Ola Kamara, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and former Lorient, Bordeaux and Espanyol defender Michael Ciani scored to turn the tie in the visitors’ favour.
Sapong has now scored three league goals for the Union who have managed just 7 wins in 20 league games and are 7th on the 11-league club Eastern Conference league.
