Hard-working Ghanaian striker Samuel Afum impressed for Serbian side FK Spartak Subotica in their 2-0 away victory over Northern Ireland Premier League side Coleraine in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
The 27-year-old former Young Boys striker lasted 83 minutes for the Serbian side who have now progressed to the next stage of the competition on a 3-1 aggregate.
Subotica needed better results in the tie at the The Showgrounds Arena after sharing the spoils in a 1-1 draw in the first-leg.
Vladimir Gaćinović, Subotica’s manager, started Afum from the bench in the first-leg but the Serbian manager started the ex-Hearts of Oak man in the second-leg tie and he lasted till the last 7 minutes of the game.
Afum signed a two-year-contract with Subotica last month and is expected to explode on the Serbian season which begins next week.
