Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah has dismissed reports indicating he has personal scores to settle with some of the players.
It has been alleged the Coach is not in good terms with some of the players hence his decision to exclude them in his recent call-ups.
Captain Asamoah Gyan, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew and Mubarak Wakaso are some of the few players who have been overlooked in recent invitations, this has raised questions about the Coach’s selection with many claiming a rife between the manager and his players, an assertion the former Al Khartoum Coach has denied.
“We are building the team for 2019 and beyond and so the fact that a player is absent today doesn’t mean the door is perpetually closed to that player.
“I don’t think it makes sense for a coach to fight a player; players don’t give their best shots in such cases; it is neither here nor there for people to think a player is not in a team because there is tension between the coach and the player.
Kwesi Appiah has already named a 21-man squad to face Kenya in a Cup of Nations qualifier next Month.
