CAF have elected Malawi FA President Walter Nyamilandu to replace disgraced Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi on the FIFA Executive Council.
Decision makers of the continent’s governing body converged in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, during CAF’s Emergency General Assembly over the weekend.
President of Ghana’s Normalisation Committee Kofi Amoah and member Naa Odofoley Nortey attended the event at the Sinai Peninsula and took part of the process and also held important discussions with top players in African and world football administration.
Nyantakyi resigned from the position along with all other positions he held in football after he was caught investigators on camera implicating himself in a corruption exposé.
Dr Amoah seized the moment to meet both the CAF and FIFA Presidents to brief them about the progress of work in Ghana’s preparations to host the 2018 AWCON in November.
Both Ahmad and Infantino have given their express backing to Ghana to host a successful event on the women’s football calender.
