Deportivo Alaves attacker Patrick Twumasi missed out on Ghana’s 23-man squad for the Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone due to injury.
Ghanasportsonline.com’s sources reveal the player was handed invitation but had to opt out after sustaining an ankle injury at training.
Twumasi, who last played for the Black Stars in a World Cup qualifier against Egypt has been out of the team for some time now.
He was expected to be part of Kwesi Appiah’s squad for the double header but for the injury he picked at his Club.
The 24-year-old is however expected to stay out for at least the next one week.
Ghana will take on Sierra Leone in the third round of qualifying matches at the Babayara Sports Stadium on October 11.
