Michael Essien believes Manchester United Coach Jose Mourinho can overturn things after the manager came under intense pressure due to the team’s recent poor outcomes.
The Red Devils are having a bitter campaign in the English Premier League as they currently occupy the eighth spot with 13 points from 8 matches.
Mourinho’s job is under threat hence could be sacked should the team fail to secure good results in subsequent matches.
The former Chelsea Coach escaped the axe after his side rallied from two goals down to beat Newcastle United 3-2 over the weekend.
Essien is confident Mourinho will come out good with his side in their upcoming matches in order to save his job.
“Am keeping my fingers crossed for him, I think he will do well, at the moment is difficult for him, knowing Mourinho I know he will turn things around and we are hoping for that,” he told CheekySport.
The former Ghana international played under Mourinho at Chelsea and Real Madrid.
