Dansoman-born Ghanaian striker Daniel Agyei scored the match-winner to propel Burnley U23 to a hard-fought 4-3 win over Nottingham Forest U23 in the Professional Development League in England on Monday afternoon.
The 21-year-old left it late to strike the decider in the 97th minute of second-half stoppage-time at the Tameside Stadium.
Jon Pepper’s men took a 3-2 lead from the opening 45 minutes but the visitors levelled things up through an Alex Mighten penalty in the 63rd.
The game appeared to be heading for a pulsating 3-3 draw.
The hosts left it until the last minute of added time to grab the winner, as Agyei poked home Bayode’s shot on goal.
The win saw Burnley rise to top of the league, temporarily, as Bolton play Sheffield United this evening and could go back to top spot with a win.
He has now scored 9 goals in 7 league games for Burnley this season.
