English-born Ghanaian teen sensation Bukayo Saka is earning raving reviews from the English press following his sparkling form for Arsenal on his full debut in the Gunners’ 1-0 win over Qarabag in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.
Arsenal fans are extremely excited about Bukayo Saka after 17-year-old winger shone on his first start for the club against Qarabag.
Saka put in a man-of-the-match performance for Unai Emery’s side as they finished as top of Group E with 16 points.
Saka, who made his debut against Ukrainian Vorskla last month, was one of a number of young players named in the starting XI at the Emirates with Unai Emery side’s having already secured top spot in their group.
The winger clearly saw it as his chance to impress despite there being little to play for, putting in dynamic man-of-the-match display.
Manager Unai Emery was pleased with what he saw from the young Ghanaian, making a point to praise him in a post-match interview.
‘Today Saka played with a good performance, with a very big personality,’ Emery told the Evening Standard.
‘We were speaking at half-time, they were trying one-on-one against the opposition. Not every action was good for us but his personality is very important, continuing in the second half to try to do one-on-ones and break lines with his quality.
‘He played with very big personality for 90 minutes and sometimes with a very good performance. It’s very important for confidence and us also, we can see in this player quality to help us.
Saka was born to Ghanaian parents in England and has represented the England at various youth levels.
