Berekum Chelsea backer Obed Nana Kwame Nketia is the latest club owner to expressed an unflinching backing for George Afriyie to become the next Ghana FA President.
Most club owners across the length and breadth of the country are expressing their backing for the CAF AFCON Committee member to lead football in the West African country.
Afriyie, former second-in-command of the Ghana FA, rounded up a campaign tour of the Brong Ahafo region on Thursday after meeting all the relevant stakeholders of football in the region.
The Brong Ahafo region is the biggest constituency in the Ghana FA electoral college with 21 electorates drawn from the Ghana Premier League, Division One and the Regional Football Association.
Nketia has extolled the virtues of the 50-year-old visionary leader and described him as ‘Adepa’.
“Who doesn’t like a good thing? I know exactly what George Afriyie can do for Ghana football but I don’t know what the rest can do,” he told Ghana Sports Online in an exclusive interview.
The revelation has obviously left opposition candidates bewildered over the influence wielded by the personalities named in the campaign team. Ghana Sports understands Afriyie has also garnered the backing of most football club owners across the country who will soon openly declare their support for the visionary leader.
