Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah has received a six month contract extension.
Government signed the ex-Ghana international on a deal which keeps him in position until the end of July.
The Coach has exhausted his two-year mandate as head Coach of the Black Stars having resumed post in 2017.
The Normalization Committee have given him an extension to enable him supervise the Black Stars team at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
He will thus be in charge of the team for the next six months.
“Government has decided to extend Coach Kwasi Appiah ‘s contract to cover the AFCON period. We will ensure we get our money’s worth,” Chairman of the Normalization committee Dr. Kofi Amoah said on Adom TV’s Fire for Fire show.
“Coach Kwasi Appiah needs to win the 2019 AFCON. If he doesn’t win, he is gone. This is stated in his contract.”
He could be handed a fresh deal should he guide the team to lift the Cup of Nations title in Egypt.
